The Institute of Craniosacral Studies offers a two-year professional training in process-based Craniosacral Therapy. Craniosacral Therapy has broadened and diversified over recent decades into a number of distinct styles that all share a common heritage, but differ in how the work is applied in clinical practice.

The process-based model developed by the Institute encourages us to develop a deep curiosity with regard to the nature of the experience that each one of us holds within us, and the ways in which these experiences have shaped our lives. We will explore ways of relating directly to these experiences in order to move back towards a more complete state of Health. In other words, we approach the body as a process to be engaged with, rather than an object to be fixed. We will learn to meet others from an engaged place of support, empathy and deep listening, rather than simply imposing technical skills or therapeutic agendas from the outside.

The training grounds students in an understanding of the interactions that exist between our anatomy and physiology and the bioenergetic and biospiritual forces that animate us. The Institute is firmly rooted in the pioneering work of Dr. William Garner Sutherland yet also incorporates other clinical skills that are integral to a process-based way of working.

The Institute is fully accredited by the Craniosacral Therapy Association of the UK, which is the professional body that regulates standards in the United Kingdom. All graduates are eligible to register with the association upon graduating.
